Best little light
I've had about a zillion book lights and I finally found this one. I liked it so much that I bought two more as gifts. I love being able to plug it in and not waste batteries. Great lamp!
OK -- if you say the base is marble I'll take your word for it. Mine looks like plain black rock. Not really a problem -- I didn't buy this for the base!
Overall this is an extremely high-quality lamp. It looks gorgeous and is mechanically sound -- which is important with something as big as this. This is a big lamp with a HUGE arc and it will be a definite conversation piece in your living room. Ours is in my photo studio lounge and clients always comment on how beautiful it is.
Assembly was not trivial -- some mechanical skill is required. It took me about 45 minutes to put it together properly. HIghly recommended.

Wonderful Reading LightA great light to read by. The only noticeable point of concern is the lack of consistency in the color temperature of the LEDs. Some are of a "hotter" color temperature than others but this difference is only noticed when looking directly at the LEDs themselves. There is no discernible mottling of color in the light shown onto surfaces - the light pattern is fairly even despite the LED temperature variation. The light produced is still "warm" and desirable over the cool white LEDs.
